Amputee Skating & Hockey Program

The Back to Hockey program is designed to help individuals with amputations confidently get back on the ice or get on the ice for the first time. The program will follow a graduated approach that helps to teach proper skating techniques in a controlled environment.

What will the program involve?

  • Since we are just starting the program, we are limiting participants to individuals with amputations. We are hoping to eventually expand to all individuals with motor impairments!

  • The Back to Hockey program is for both children and adults! We are equipped to teach all individuals with amputations and will adjust the program as needed based on age and skill level.

  • This program is designed to help individuals get back to the ice OR get on the ice for the first time. The program is designed to help get you comfortable on skates with little risk of falling prior to stepping on the ice.

  • We are currently accepting individuals with any level of amputation (upper or lower limb). If you have specific questions about your amputation, feel free to message us!

  • The program will help to improve skating and hockey skills. If you are only interested in learning to skate, make sure to note that on your registration form!
