Pediatric Prosthetics and Bracing

As your child grows, they need a prosthesis or orthosis that can grow with them and their goals! At AOPC, we are committed to working with you and your child to ensure their device supports them throughout their adventures.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We aim to have a child in a prosthesis/orthosis early in their development/recovery to help with adoption into their life. Contact us to see if it is the right time to meet with a clinician!

  • It is best if your child wears clothes that can be easily pulled up to assess the limb (shorts/t-shirt are great!).

  • Since each device is custom made, our turnaround time is typically 2 weeks. Your clinician will confirm this when they re-book you for a fitting.

  • If you hear, see, or feel the device breaking, or if your child is complaining of new pain or new sores, come in to see your clinician ASAP!

  • Children grow, so the prosthesis/orthosis needs to as well! If there are new pressure spots (redness, sores, pain, etc.), your child can’t get into their device, or something is not working well, come in to see your clinician.
